The criminal police in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss has solved more than 80 crimes committed by a gang of thieves. The perpetrators stole cars – and an official insignia.

The criminal police in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss has one Series of thefts solved. Overall, the officers determined 80 serious crimes. The series began on Christmas 2022. The alleged perpetrators broke into the Jüchen town hall and stole the mayor’s company car and chain of office. The car burned out in Mönchengladbach in January 2023, the chain has disappeared to this day.

In the months that followed, the gang continued to strike. The alleged perpetrators captured a total of 30 vehicles Total value of over one million euros. Many of these vehicles, like the mayor of Jüchen, were set on fire, for example an Audi RS6 worth 140,000 euros. The police were able to secure 20 stolen cars.

Police announce more information about the gang of thieves

The members of the gang, according to the police, “live almost exclusively in Grevenbroich”. Among other things, they struck in Jüchen, Grevenbroich, Neuss, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Mönchengladbach, Solingen, Bergheim, Erkelenz, Alsdorf, Niederzier, Hückeswagen and Kürten. On Monday, April 24, the district administrator and head of the district police authority, Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke, wants to announce further details about the investigation in a press conference.
