Moving moments at “Red Roses”. After Dörte’s unexpected death, family and friends say goodbye. At the funeral Gunter finds emotional words, which unfortunately are not so easy to understand. The production company explains why.
What a roller coaster of emotions at “Red Roses”: First sealed Dorte and Gunther her luck with the yes word, then Dörte died unexpectedly of a heart attack. In episode 3709 everyone has to say goodbye to their wife and mother.
Dörte lies in state in the church, but Gunter is missing at first. Sandra finds the grieving widower and he says goodbye to his Dörte. In the episode itself, his words cannot be heard, for that but on youtube. The production company Serial Shipyard explains to TVSPIELFILM.de: “In the original episode we played the music so that it was more emotional.”
Here are excerpts from the eulogy: “Dörte Reichard was courageous, committed, clever and gracious. Always full of love for her neighbors. We will not bury all of this today. We bury the earthly shell of a woman whose wonderful qualities live on in all those who loved her, and we all loved Dorte. […] If I understood something from her sudden death, which I still find incomprehensible, it is this: You can’t put off what’s important in life, it’s the moment that counts. Bon voyage, Dorte.”
Edelgard Hansen: “Colleagues played with heart and soul”
The actress Dörte has experienced how she experienced the funeral service for her role Edelgard Hansen tells TVSPIELFILM.de: “The funeral and the associated ceremony was then another challenge for me. Dörte lay in the open coffin in the church and everyone present said goodbye to her personally. When Gunter gave his farewell speech in rehearsal, tears ran down my cheeks.
Of course, I wasn’t allowed to react emotionally during the shoot, which wasn’t easy for me, because my colleagues played with heart and soul and I had to concentrate very hard not to cry too. I managed to do that. Patrick Fichte, the director of this episode, told me after filming that he thought it was a bit creepy because they didn’t see me breathing.“
