Recently, Arkane Studio’s upcoming action game Redfall has been compared a lot to Valve’s classic Left 4 Dead, something that the developers themselves don’t think gives a completely fair picture of the game. A big part of it involves destroying large hordes of vampires, while in Left 4 Dead you do the same with zombies, but that’s where the similarities end according to the developers.

Despite the large hordes of enemies, there really isn’t much else that bears much resemblance to Left 4 Dead, but fans still continue to compare the two. Redfall doesn’t seem to be quite as hectic and stressful as Left 4 Dead can be at times, it also has an open world as opposed to individual courses and judging from what we’ve seen of the game’s gameplay so far, it’s pretty obvious that it’s pretty big differences between the two games. However, Arkane Studios’ Ricardo Bare said that he understood the comparisons to some extent, but stated that Redfall has more in common with Far Cry than with Left 4 Dead.

Ricardo Bare, Arkane Studios:
“Redfall sometimes feels like what you’d get if you blended the Arkane creative values with Far Cry 2 or STALKER”

What do you think? Does Redfall resemble Far Cry more than Left 4 Dead?

Redfall has yet to receive a release date, but the latest rumors point to the first week of May.
