Redmi A2 has leaked renders after being certified with Helio G36 and Android 13

Last year, Xiaomi launched the Redmi A1 in several markets. It is the most affordable device from the Chinese manufacturer and has entry-level specifications. Apparently, he should get a new version soon.

Xiaomi would be working on the Redmi A2 and a new leak from Roland Quandt from the WinFuture website revealed its design, specifications and price.

In design, the Redmi A2 will be identical to its predecessor. It should arrive in three color options: black, blue and green. According to the leaked details, the device should cost around ₹8,600 (~R$540) and bring 2 GB of RAM memory and 32 GB of internal storage.

Under construction, the device has a plastic back panel and structure. The camera module will be dual, while the display will have a drop-shaped notch to house the front sensor. On the right side, you can see the volume and power buttons, while on the left side is the space for the chip.

In terms of specifications, the cell phone will feature MediaTek’s Helio G36 chipset, recently announced as the successor to the Helio G35. It is produced in 12-nanometer lithography and has a maximum frequency of 2.2 GHz, in addition to bringing support for a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a 50-megapixel camera.

On the display, it should come with a 6.52-inch IPS LCD screen with HD+ resolution (1,600 x 720 pixels). There is no digital reader on the back, indicating that the feature should be reserved for the A2 Plus. At the rear, an 8-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor are expected. For selfies and video calls, it should have a 5-megapixel front sensor.

The next cheap smartphone from Xiaomi/Redmi may have MediaTek Helio P35 processor. The news was revealed by Xiaomiui staff based on data published by the FCC — a regulatory agency similar to our Anatel.

According to preliminary information, this new smartphone is in the initial certification phase and its number is 23036RN54G. Furthermore, sources report that his internal codename is “Water”.

For those who don’t remember, the Redmi A1 and A1 Plus are known to be called Ice and Snow, respectively.

However, the regulatory agency’s file does not bring the commercial name of the new low-cost device. Even so, everything indicates that we are talking about the future Redmi A2.

Another specification that already appears in the initial sheets is the presence of Android 13 in its Go edition, since we are talking about a smartphone that will be simpler.

The other details about the possible Redmi A2 are not yet available, but its market positioning already makes it clear that it will have an IPS LCD screen with only HD+ resolution.

In addition, we can also expect options with up to 4 GB of RAM, a main camera around 16 MP, a 5 MP or 8 MP front camera and a 5,000 mAh battery. For now, the manufacturer does not comment on the matter.
