The Minister Delegate for Equality between Women and Men Isabelle Rome reacted to the decision of the parliamentary group of insubordinate France to reinstate the deputy from the North in its ranks.
“Let’s not forget the role of a parliamentarian”. The Minister Delegate for Equality between Women and Men Isabelle Rome reacted to the decision taken by the parliamentary group of La France insoumise to reinstate Adrien Quatennens, four months after his conviction for domestic violence.
“Perhaps the resignation would have been a positive signal sent to all women,” said the member of the government, judging that this decision “belongs to him”.
The minister refused to draw any parallel with the case of Damien Abad, the majority deputy accused of sexual violence but “not convicted”.

45 deputies from La France insoumise voted on Tuesday for the reinstatement of the deputy from the North, 15 voted against, 2 abstained and 12 other parliamentarians did not take part in the vote.
“When it comes to making courageous decisions, beyond personal friendships, well there is no one left,” said Isabelle Rome.
For the Minister, “we can ask ourselves the question of maintaining a deputy whose role is to participate in the drafting of the law within the National Assembly when he has been criminally convicted for violence committed on his wife”.
This return of Adrien Quatennens within the parliamentary group of La France insoumise divides the ranks of Nupes in the National Assembly. If the deputy claims today to “regret” words which could “put the seriousness of the facts into perspective”, the Socialist Party condemned the “unacceptable” decision of the LFI group to reinstate him. On the side of Europe-Ecology Les Verts, MP Sandra Regol affirmed that there will be “no interference in the affairs” of LFI while Sandrine Rousseau has indicated that she will not sit during the catches speech by the Member for the North.
