13 Bundesliga appearances, one goal: For Davie Selke, the first part of the season was once again unsatisfactory. Now the center forward from Hertha BSC apparently dares to start again. As the ‘kicker’ reports, the 27-year-old is in agreement with 1. FC Köln.
That fits together, after all, the Cologne team was looking for a center forward with physical presence. This component applies to Selke, but he recently lacked the goal threat. In his most recent 122 Bundesliga games, he has scored just twelve times.
This even led to Hertha letting their top earners go free of charge, according to ‘Sport Bild’. Selke’s contract expires in six months anyway. In 2016 he came from RB Leipzig for eight million euros.
Update: (5:40 p.m.): According to ‘Sky’ the deal is done. Selke will therefore sign until 2024 at Geißbockheim.
