Almost everything now indicates that the future head coach of Chelsea will be Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine trainer is said to have convinced the Blues club management, and the cooperation should be sealed in the next few days. Julian Nagelsmann, on the other hand, canceled the Londoners, and no agreement was reached.
Until recently, things were still looking good for Upper Bavaria. The talks between Nagelsmann and the Chelsea bosses were promising – so promising that, according to a report in the Daily Mail, the 35-year-old believed he was already secure in his job and considered the signing of the contract to be a mere formality.
Then, however, Nagelsmann is said to have got wind and doubts from the talks with the other applicants such as Pochettino or Vincent Kompany. In the end he decided to retire from poker. With Chelsea’s city rivals Tottenham Hotspur, the ex-Bayern coach should have another exciting option up his sleeve.
