Washington DC, United States.- The 24 Republican-ruled states in the United States will send support, including security agents, to the Texas-Mexico border in response to Governor Greg Abbott’s call.

According to a letter published and disseminated by local media, the Republican Governors assure that they are sending support since the Biden Administration’s policies are “the greatest threat to national security since September 11.”

While the federal government has abdicated its duties, “Republican Governors stand ready to protect the US-Mexico border and keep families safe,” the group of 24 Governors said.

Yesterday, the Republican and one of the potential favorite candidates for the Presidency in 2024, Ron DeSantis, announced that he would send more than 1,100 agents to the Texas border with Mexico.

No Democratic Governor, including those of the border states with Mexico (Arizona, New Mexico and California), has responded to Abbott’s call, according to local media reports.

Abbott sent a letter Tuesday to all state governors in the United States requesting support at the border in the “absence of the Joe Biden government.”

“The spate of illegal border activity invited by the Biden Administration flows directly across the southern border into Texas communities, but this crisis does not stop in our state. Emboldened Mexican drug cartels and other transnational criminal enterprises benefit of this chaos, smuggling people and dangerous drugs like fentanyl into communities across the country,” Abbott said.

“In the absence of the federal government, we as Governors must come together to combat the President’s ongoing border crisis and ensure the safety that all Americans deserve.”

The action also occurs less than a week after the end of the policy known as Title 42, which allowed the express expulsion of migrants.
