There are around 10 daily requests that are made in the province through the 911 emergency line, both to verify cases of abandonment or mistreatment, and also to rescue species in captivity or injured.

In the last hours, the rescue of a horse that had fallen into a 2.5-meter-deep well in the town of Corpus was highlighted, which was extracted without injuries with the use of ropes and with the help of a backhoe. This work was carried out by the local Police Station together with the Volunteer Firefighters.

Another procedure was carried out by the West Zone Radioelectric Command Division of Posadas, who, after an alert from the 911 Integral Operations Center, caught a Boa Curiyú snake that was in the area of the bridge located on Avenida Blas Parera near Avenida Ulises, and that had caused panic among passers-by and residents of the place.

For its part, the Environmental Defense Directorate was summoned to a house in the Itambé Guazú neighborhood of Posadas, because a neighbor found a Chimachima Falcon in her yard. Once they arrived at the place, they found that the bird had difficulty flying, being caught and protected for veterinary care.

Regarding canine animals, three cases of abandonment were recorded, highlighting the case of a dog that was guarded by the 17th Section, which was helpless and with several injuries. The animal was located at the intersection of 100 and 97 streets of the 97° Chacra in Posadas, and after being placed under protection, it was treated by the police veterinarian, before being transferred to Imusa to continue its recovery.

Finally, while the troops from the Itaembé Guazú Motorized Division were touring the 508 Viviendas neighborhood, they were called by a neighbor because her cat, the house pet, had fallen into a storm drain and was unable to get out, so that the agents had to enter the drainage area to safely extract the animal.

Four other anonymous calls to the emergency line were also registered, reporting alleged abandonment and abuse of animals in private homes, which were verified and after speaking with the pet owners, no elements were found for the start of the calls. Causes.

It should be noted that the Provincial Force works together with the Ecology staff, rescuers from all over the province and NGOs dedicated to these procedures. Also, in the case of exotic animals, they are taken to the El Puma Reserve, where they are monitored for later reintegration into their natural habitats.
