Residents of Brickell building without air conditioning after pipe burst

Residents have sent us a video recorded at 1:30 p.m. today, recording a break in a water pipe for cooling the Air Conditioning system in the 150-apartment building. Tower 3 of the Four Ambassadors complex, in Miami, is without air conditioning, again.

The neighbors called us today, desperate and they are very frustrating.

It all started on Monday June 26 with the rupture of the previous 600 foot pipeline. The replacement lasted until yesterday at 8:30 pm when the air conditioning was activated again. Common areas and some apartments were not even fully cooled.

Robert J. Alwine, President of Bayview Condominium Management, says, “There is no guarantee that the pipe will not burst because it is 7,000 pound water pressure and we have only had three days to cure the glue.”

Today, in a phone call, he told us that “one of the joints could not withstand the pressure of the water and exploded”, and another fire system pipe was also damaged.

But the neighbors, including older adults and children, far from being convinced, question more.

“I can’t trust these people, as they don’t live in the same tower!” says a resident.
