The extension of Marco Reus at Borussia Dortmund is dragging on. It was recently reported that the club’s side has not even contacted the player. At Reus, however, people would like to have clarity about their own future, which is why consultant Dirk Hebe recently emphasized that “that other clubs are interested in a player like Marco.”
Reus himself took the same line and commented on emerging rumors about a move to Saudi Arabian Al Nassr: “I still have six months of contract, I have to think about it. […] We’ll see what the future brings.” No randomly chosen words, as Marian Laske reports in the ‘WAZ’ podcast ‘Football Inside’. As a result, Reus wanted to send a clear signal to the club to initiate timely talks.

One thing should particularly annoy the captain. As the ‘WAZ’ further reports, the Reus camp is not happy that the BVB managers are currently courting shooting star Youssoufa Moukoko (18). Take the negotiations with the talented striker “with astonishment” note.
The newspaper also writes that a discussion about the desired extension is planned in the near future. Reus wants to sit down with sports director Sebastian Kehl to explore the next steps.
So far, the Dortmunders don’t seem particularly keen on keeping their figurehead. In the coming weeks, the Causa Reus should pick up speed again.
