The popular TV 2 profile Eli Kari Gjengedal (51) is a lot to see on the TV screen. Primarily as a weather anchor, but she has also been seen as a participant in Farmen kendis.

On January 10, Torpet kendis begins, and Gjengedal is one of three participants.

On the other hand, she reveals that there is another role she would like to have, but which she has not succeeded in getting so far.

Have asked every year

Gjengedal has asked to be program manager for Farmen for 22 years. Every year she has sent an e-mail to the production, and she will continue to do so.

The whole tradition began when she was called for an interview in the first season. She didn’t quite know what the concept meant, but was still very flattered.

With a coffee in hand at Fru Hagen, in the heart of Grünerløkka, the interview took place.

– I regret so much some of the things I said then. I didn’t quite understand what the concept was and sold myself the wrong way. So then the job went to Sarah Natasha Melbye, she says when TV 2 calls.

On the ball right away

In Christmas, it was announced that Farmen celebrity presenter Tiril Sjåstad Christiansen is giving up the role. The position is thus vacant.

– I think anyone can “nail” this job, but I think it is important that it is a person who loves the Farmen concept. You have to understand it, have an understanding of it, and you have to be able to understand what the participants are going through, said Christiansen about who should take over as presenter.

As the self-proclaimed “world’s biggest Farmen fan”, Gjengedal believes that she would have been a good fit as presenter.

– I think I have a lot to contribute and have a lot of farm knowledge. The tears just roll when I see a butter cheek, she can tell.

– I had to laugh a little. When the job became available, I was on the ball straight away and sent an e-mail to the production company. I have a 20th anniversary in masing. I’m not giving up, laughs Gjengedal.

The answer to whether she will be the lucky one, she will probably have to wait a little while longer.

– There are many good presenter candidates, but it is far too early to say who will eventually become the new Farmen celebrity presenter, says TV 2’s press manager, Jan-Petter Dahl.

Will never stop the weather job

Despite this dream, the weather job at Gjengedal is her great love.

If she had become presenter of Farmen, she would still report the weather on TV 2.

– I can never stop TV 2 weather ever. I am so happy with my weather job, my colleagues and TV 2, she says.

Gjengedal has had this job for 23 years and is currently weather manager. Not even her great commitment to the Farm can compare to this.

– Not at the expense of the weather reports, notes Gjengedal.

See Stupid celebrity from 10 January on TV 2 Play.
