• In 2021, the owner of Grupo Salinas ranked third on the list of the richest people in Mexico.

  • He has a fortune estimated at 12 thousand 520 million dollars.

  • Salinas companies are engaged in various sectors ranging from financial services, telecommunications, media, entertainment and transportation.

Social networks continue to be that key tool for public figures and Internet users to talk to each other. This time, that was demonstrated by the Mexican businessman Ricardo Salinas, who has become a trend for sending his followers to work and defending his wealth.

Let’s remember that Ricardo Salinas Pliego has a Twitter community of more than a million followers, and he always maintains dynamics where he gives away money or even helps his digital community. But on several occasions his comments or posts offend people.

The owner of TotalPlay, Banco Azteca, Elektra and Tv Azteca has a valued fortune, according to Bloomberg data, which amounts to 10.7 billion dollars and which places him in the 167th position of the richest people in the world.

Ricardo Salinas and controversy in networks

Once again, businessman Ricardo Salinas is drawing the attention of the entire internet, after being the target of various criticisms on Twitter due to his abundant wealth.

The controversy began when, a few days ago, the owner of TV Azteca launched a recommendation on his Twitter account for his followers, where he advised them to get up to work.

Through a tweet, the businessman responded to the users who came to his location to insult and criticize him, since many accused him of being a “hypocrite” because, according to the comments, Salinas Pliego’s fortune was inherited from his parents.

“How cool is it to give advice, Salinas Pliego, when he inherited everything. He’s not an asshole, he’s a hypocrite, yes,” said an Internet user.

“What fault do I have that his parents were assholes and did not inherit anything?” Was Salinas’s response.

As he also added that the parents of that person did not teach him to work either, only to complain. “Get to work so that you can leave your children something more than debts in Elektra,” she said.

“Typical asshole who thinks I’m rich because I inherited and blames everyone because he’s not a millionaire… get to work bastard and stop crying,” he said.

It is not the first time that the Mexican has unleashed criticism on social networks, because although he has millions of followers, the majority are also critical of each of his actions.

Salinas Pliego is not the only corporate public figure who has a busy life on social networks, since the owner of Tesla and Twitter, Elon Musk, has also been seen arguing with his millions of followers many times.
