ANDThis will be Tesla’s second factory in Shanghai, where it already opened space in 2019.
The factory is expected to start production in the second quarter of 2024 and has an initial capacity of 10,000 Megapack batteries per year, which can store more than three megawatt hours of energy.
The news comes shortly after Tesla founder Elon Musk announced the brand’s new expansion plan to investors.
In March, Musk had already confirmed the construction of a factory in Mexico, destined to assemble vehicles.
