The city of Rio de Janeiro distributed a statement this Monday (24), stating that all people aged 18 or over will be able, as of Tuesday (25), to take the booster against the bivalent vaccine. “It is necessary to have received at least two doses of the vaccine against the disease more than 4 months ago”, said the Municipal Health Secretariat.

In the municipality of Rio, more than 200 vaccination points will be available, among family clinics and municipal health centers throughout the city.

The announcement came shortly after the Ministry of Health announcement on expanding the vaccination campaign against covid-19, with a bivalent booster dose for the entire population over 18 years of age. About 97 million Brazilians could be vaccinated.
