The charity vote at the end of 2022 ended at Riot Games: the 6 million dollars allocated by the US company for non-profit organizations in 28 countries will finally be divided among only a few realities from all over the world, supporting some more than others.

In December, the manufacturer of video games such as League of Legends and VALORANT specified, in fact, that the organization with the most votes in each country/region would receive 50% of the funds allocated for the area in question, while each of the others two candidate entities would have donated 25%. We are talking about a minimum of $15,000 per single nonprofit: “Thanks to our amazing players, we have been able to make a difference for 83 non-profit organizations around the world”, added Jimmy Hahn, Senior Head of Social Impact at Riot Games. “2022 has been a great year for the Social Impact Fund and, in 2023, we look forward to providing more opportunities for gamers to make a meaningful impact and change their local communities for the better through our games.”

In Italy in particular, of the three participants Chayn Italia, L’bilità Associazione Onlus, e Sole Terre Foundation it was the latter that received the most votes. Jimmy Hahn himself has added on other occasions that this fundraiser for the Social Impact Fund is the regular event where players exceed the expectations of the organizers: “We believe in giving players the opportunity to make meaningful change in their communities, and charity voting campaigns are a very useful tool for us to tell which causes and entities have the most impact locally. We really have the best players in the world.”.
