RIPTIDE viewers spotted a major mistake after Sean’s body was buried on the beach.
Channel 5 fans have watched the second episode of the new psychological thriller which tells the story of Alison, whose life turns dark when her Australian husband disappears after an early morning surf.
Taking place over four consecutive nights, the Australian-set drama stars EastEnders actress Jo Joyner as his grieving wife, Alison.
Last night viewers saw a masked figure bury a bloodied and beaten Sean on the beach.
During tonight’s episode, police questioned Sean’s son, Ethan, after their argument on the beach came to light.
However, viewers were left confused as to why the cops didn’t bother to scour the beach for evidence.
One wrote: “I don’t see why the police didn’t check the beach, I mean they didn’t even consider the foul play there a bit of rubbish, ain’t it #Riptide”
Another posted: “Ok I love the drama and tension in #riptide but where is the emotion? Her husbands are missing or dead and she doesn’t have a tear yet??? Why didn’t the police scour the beach? #need answers #need emotion »
A third added: “Surely the police would check the beach for foul play or is there ever just one detective in every Australian police station #Riptide”
During tonight’s episode, Ethan dropped a bombshell that his dad’s business and house belonged to him and he was kicking Alison out.
Meanwhile, Alison was shaken after someone smashed a window in her front door and was consoled by next-door neighbor Dan.
But it wasn’t long before the mystery of Sean’s killer was revealed.
In the final seconds of the episode, Dan was seen with the body bag, clearly having moved it from the beach.
Viewers rushed to Twitter after Dan’s sinister side was revealed, writing, “I guess the moral of #Riptide is ‘everyone needs good neighbours,’ but sometimes you end up with a bad one. ”
Another posted: “Neighbor so a bit early to release this info on episode 2 also it was a good episode #Riptide
“KNEW this slimy neighbor had something to do with it,” echoed a third.
Someone else tweeted: “I felt the neighbor was weird and killed him #Riptide”
