Warner Bros. has confirmed the February 28, 2023 release of Rocky: The Knockout Collection in 4K Ultra HD. In addition to HDR10, the films also include Dolby Vision. However, only the first four films are included in the collection on disc. “Rocky V” and “Rocky Balboa” are unfortunately missing for the time being.

February 28, 2023 was initially only confirmed as the release date for the USA. But I expect a release in Germany soon. Of course, the “Rocky” series should not only appear on disc in 4K, but also on the common digital platforms. A special treat: The collection also includes “Rocky IV” in the new version “Rocky vs. Drago: The Ultimate Director’s Cut”. This is a new cut version of Sylvester Stallone.

The latter is also rumored to be the reason why “Rocky V” and “Rocky Balboa” are not included. Stallone is probably also working on new cut versions for those two films, which is why they will be submitted later. For me, that’s a reason to wait and see before buying, because there will definitely be a complete box to follow.
