We’ve had several great music releases so far in 2023, and now we have to add one more. This Tuesday, April 11, Romy returned with a new song called “Enjoy Your Life” which will certainly put them in an optimistic mood.

Little by little, but each release has been more than interesting. From 2020 to date, the also member of The xx has released several solo songs from this stage, many of them characterized by that cool dance vibe that makes us want to hit the dance floor.
The most recent of these tracks is no exception. Now, Romy brings us a new song titled “Enjoy Your Life”, produced by Jamie xx, Fred Again..(with whom he also collaborated on last year’s “Strong”) and Stuart Price with a sample taken from the song “La Vita” by Beverly Glenn-Copeland. And in fact, the latter has a very emotional explanation.
According to a statement, Romy decided to sample the aforementioned song after she went to a Beverly Glenn-Copeland concert in Stockholm. Beverly played “La Vita” and in that song, Romy found a verse that inspired her to compose her new song: “My mother says to me ‘enjoy your life‘”.
That phrase moved the British DJ because it reminded her of her own mother, who died when she was 11 years old. “When I heard that sentence, I was speechless… It resonated especially deep, since this perspective of living life was part of me since my mother passed away when i was 11 years old“, Romy commented on her song “Enjoy Your Life”.
Well, Romy and her collaborators got to work, Beverly Glenn-Copeland gave permission for the sample of her song and now, Here we leave you the official video directed by Vic Lentaigne (the artist’s wife), where we can see footage with appearances by Romy’s mother as a tribute.
Romy’s new album is close
Romy brings us her new song “Enjoy Your Life” after a long production process for what will be his debut solo album. Let’s remember that it was in 2020 when the British composer brought us her single “Lifetime” to start this new stage.
Since then, in the midst of the complications of the pandemic, she has dedicated herself to giving shows and finishing this record material. In a recent session for el Live Lounge de la BBC, Romy mentioned that she is very close to finishing producing this album..
The singer also said that she and her fellow The xx, Jamie xx (here our recent interview with him) and Oliver Sim, they already got together to start writing new music together.
