Ron DeSantis collapses in the polls and would lose even with Biden

Donald Trump is happy. Governor of Florida and presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis plummets in the polls. The fall seems unstoppable and that’s it 40 points behind the favorite which is, nothing more and nothing less than the former president.

A survey of Morning Consult shows the former president (2017-2021) with the 56% voting intention among Republican voters, while the second favorite, DeSantis, has 17%, that is, there is a difference of 40 percentage points away from Trump and registers a “historical minimum” for the pollster, which began tracking the primaries last December, reports Efe.

I would lose even with Biden

The study even reflects that in the event of a heads-up against US President Joe Biden, DeSantis loses ground and is five points behind the current US president, who has announced that he will seek re-election.

For his part, Trump would do better if faced with Bidenagainst which would lose by one point percentage, according to the survey of Morning Consultmade between July 7 and 9 to 3,616 potential voters in the Republican primaries and with a margin of error of between 2% and 4%.

The others

This poll places in third place to the author and businessman Vivek Ramaswamand, who brings together 8% of voting intentions and thus surpasses the former vice president Mike Pence, who achieves 7% and occupies the fourth position.

The Republican Party will hold the next January 15 the electoral assemblies in the state of Iowa to choose the party’s presidential candidate, an event that will begin the 2024 electoral cycle in the United States, with a view to the presidential elections on November 5 of that year.

The state of Iowa has traditionally been first on the electoral calendar, followed by New Hampshire.

The Democrats, for their part, have chosen to make South Carolina the first date in their primary election process, on February 3.
