An 18-year-old boy was shot to death at the door of his house, in the Ludueña neighborhood, Rosario, by two people who shot at him from a motorcycle and then escaped.

Judicial sources reported that the investigators presume that it could have been a homicide linked to a settling of accounts related to drug trafficking.

The victim, identified as 18-year-old Juan Leiva, died a few minutes after the attack at a municipal health center.

This is crime number 96 so far in 2023 in Rosario. Last year, the district recorded a record 288 murders, according to official statistics.

The murder occurred around this Friday around 12:30 p.m. on 100 Barra Street, near the intersection with Tupac Amaru, in the Ludueña neighborhood in northwestern Rosario.

According to the first information, two people who were traveling on a motorcycle shot at a house, where the 18-year-old boy who was shot was found.

After the attack, relatives of the victim took him to the health center located in the Northwest District Municipal Center, where he ended up dying as a result of his injuries, reported the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPA).

According to the investigation, the attackers would have fired at least six shots at the victim.

The prosecutor of the Homicide Unit in charge of the case, Ademar Bianchini, ordered the transfer of the young man’s body to the Legal Medical Institute for an autopsy. In addition, the removal of traces to the scientific police and the taking of statements from possible witnesses to the attack.

The 11-year-old boy and her 19-year-old brother were there when they were attacked by two people who were on top of a motorcycle and escaped at high speed.

Upon arrival in the area, the police officers found a crowd of people and the baby lying on the floor with a shot to the right leg. Given the delay of the ambulance, the neighbors asked the patrol to transfer the child to a health center.

Finally, the security agents agreed to the request of the neighbors and transferred him to the Víctor J. Vilela Children’s Hospital. While they were moving him, the patrol asked another unit to come to the place to preserve the scene of the attack.

The director of the health center, Viviana Esquivel, explained that “the patient was admitted with a gunshot wound to the right femur, with an entry and exit hole.” The shot caused a “fracture without vascular compromise for which he underwent surgery.” According to the diagnosis that Esquivel gave, the young man presented a “stable postoperative period, out of danger and accompanied by his relatives.”

While they were transferring the victim, the police officers notified the flagrante prosecutor on duty, Lucas Altare, who requested that they take traces and seize material of interest.
