It is one of those games whose longevity goes beyond understanding and spans the ages. One can immediately think of Grand Theft Auto V when writing this. However, the opposite case exists and Rumbleverse could experience an opposite fate, threatened to disappear after only 6 months of availability…

No official communication

Rumbleverse is a type game brawl, free to play and often compared to Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. franchise. Available since last August on PC and consoles, it also includes elements from games of the battle royale and hoped to ride on the success of Epic Studios’ flagship title, Fortnite. He may not get the chance…

Indeed, journalist Tom Henderson, often well informed about the rumors at the heart of the video game industry, tweeted in the most laconic way possible: “The Epic Games Rumbleverse will close at the end of February. In a second tweet, he gives no source, but mentions a withdrawal of the game from the various stores on which it is downloadable, starting today.

As of this writing, Rumbleverse is still available on the Epic Games Store as well as the Xbox Store. No official communication from the publisher or the developer Iron Galaxy Studios has come to confirm or contradict what remains a rumor, as it stands. Epic Games has rarely communicated on the performance of its title. However, it is already no longer in the top 10 most played games, although it has been available for less than 6 months.

If you haven’t tried it yet and while waiting to hear more about a possible shutdown of the online servers, you can join the battle by download for free here. Rumbleverse is developed by Iron Galaxy Studios, the studio behind seasons two and three of Killer Instinct, released for Xbox One in 2013. It is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC through the Epic Games Store.
