As you may have heard, Microsoft has an event called Developer Direct on January 25th, where they will be showing much more from Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, Redfall and The Elder Scrolls Online. Possibly even a premiere date, although it was already confirmed in June that they would be launched in the first half of 2023.
One game we won’t see anything from, however, is Starfield, which was recently confirmed to have a separate and dedicated event at a later date. Starfield is also due to launch in the first half of 2023, but according to a new rumor from the Defining Duke podcast it appears that for the second time (it was originally slated for a November 2022 premiere) it may be pushed to a later date.
It’s the Youtuber MrMattyPlays who claim to have heard from trusted sources that Starfield will not make it to the intended launch window. Fortunately, he says there won’t be a major delay and we’ll still get to enjoy the massive RPG during the summer, which should mean either July or August.
Given frequent rumors claiming that Redfall has been delayed until May, it’s not hard to imagine why Microsoft wants to separate its releases. They also have Forza Motorsport and Minecraft Legends coming up, so it’s going to be a pretty busy spring regardless.
