Moscow affirms that it will also closely follow the meeting planned in Saudi Arabia to discuss the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula

MADRID, 31 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Kremlin has assured that they will remain “attentive” to the negotiations between the United States and Ukraine, announced over the weekend and whose main objective will be to agree on a bilateral agreement with security guarantees to guarantee Washington’s support until Kiev achieves NATO membership.

This was stated this Monday by the Kremlin spokesman, Dimitri Peskov, at a press conference, responding to the official statement issued by the Ukrainian Presidency where he stated that these contacts with the US authorities would begin this week, the Russian agency TASS reports.

According to the Ukrainian side, these security guarantees are the way “most reliable security” for kyiv as long as the war continues and for a “transition period” until the country can finally get the ‘green light’ from the Allies to join NATO.

kyiv aspires in this way to forge a system of bilateral alliances through the Joint Declaration adopted by the leaders of the G-7 and Ukraine itself in Vilnius. “More than a dozen countries have already signed up to this Declaration and new states adhere every week”stressed the Ukrainian Presidency.

PEACE MEETING IN SAUDI ARABIA

On the other hand, Peskov has pointed out that Russia will also closely follow the meeting at the level of national security advisers and politicians and leaders of various countries scheduled in Saudi Arabia and where it will seek to guarantee the application of the peace plan proposed by Ukraine.

“Russia will follow this meeting. It remains to be seen what goals are set and in what way the organizers actually plan to speak. We have repeatedly said that any attempt to contribute in any way to a peaceful settlement deserves a positive evaluation.”Peskov said.

The first such meeting took place in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, last June. “We thank these two kingdoms for their leadership and strong support for Ukrainian initiatives.”the Ukrainian Presidency said in another statement over the weekend.

The process could culminate at the end of this year with a global summit with the presence of heads of state and government to address the Ukrainian Peace Formula.
