MADRID, 11 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The governor of the self-proclaimed and pro-Russian Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, has assured that the controversial cluster bombs supplied by the United States to the Armed Forces of Ukraine kill and injure civilians “every day”.

According to Pushilin – imposed on the position by the Kremlin – the city of Donetsk and other towns in the region of the same name are “daily under enemy cluster fire.” “People die and are injured”, he added on his Telegram channel.

Pushilin recalled that cluster bombs are prohibited by a large part of the international community, and has criticized the US Pentagon for ensuring that kyiv uses this type of munition “correctly.”

“Cluster-type projectiles are prohibited (…) and not with the exception of cases of application ‘properly’ (…) And they are under prohibition due to the fact that the main victims of their use are civilians “, has reported the governor of the DPR.

In this context, Pushilin has taken the opportunity to attack the United States and its operations in Southeast Asia in the second half of the 20th century, where it made those lands a “field of criminal experiments.”

“The vast territories of these countries are literally littered with unexploded bombs. Today, unable to reverse the unfortunate situation that is developing in the war zone (…) Washington uses prohibited usual methods,” he added.

“Well, nothing new. The United States still considers itself an unshakable hegemony, an illusion. Believing that they can continue waging proxy wars, they use prohibited munitions and methods of warfare,” Pushilin concluded.

The US authorities supplied the Ukrainian Armed Forces weeks ago with a series of cluster bombs under kyiv’s promise that they would use them only for demining purposes and away from urban centers and inhabited areas.

The shipment of weapons, prohibited due to its negative impact on the civilian population, aroused criticism not only from Russia, but from some of the closest allies of the United States and Ukraine, such as Germany, the United Kingdom or Canada.
