News JVTech Samsung wants to revolutionize PC screens with these two new oversized Odyssey G9s: OLED, Mini-Led…
The CES has not even officially started yet, and Samsung is already unveiling a few new features that have something to talk about: these are two curved Odyssey G9 monitors that go very far in terms of immersion, in particular by offering OLED and Mini-LED.
It was in 2020, at CES in Las Vegas, that Samsung unveiled its first model of the Odyssey G9 curved PC monitor. This year, the South Korean manufacturer is putting the cover back by unveiling two new versions of this “gamer” screen that sees things big.

Samsung Odyssey Neo G9: 57 inches and Mini-LED
The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is simply a monster. Its screen diagonal of 57 inches (145cm) and its curvature 1000R make it a huge and enveloping model, which offers a very high level field of vision. We can add to this 240Hz refresh rate to please the players.
With its definition of 7680 x 2160 pixelsthe slab Quantum Mini-LED with DisplayHDR 1000 specification which equips this monitor just misses the 8K. His ratio 32:9 is the main culprit, but that should not prevent users from taking advantage of the advantages of this screen, capable of replacing two or even three standard monitors. It is also the world’s first monitor to support DisplayPort 2.1which transfers data twice as fast as DisplayPort 1.4.
One can legitimately ask whether the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 isn’t a bit ahead of its timebecause in the end, exploiting the full potential of this model could take time: at present, few graphics cards support DisplayPort 2.1, with the exception of AMD’s RX 7900 XTX. The price and release date of this monitor have not yet been revealed by Samsung. To compare, the 49-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 released last year currently costs 1999 euros on the brand’s website.
Samsung Odyssey OLED G9, with integrated Gaming Hub
For its part, the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 displays a screen diagonal of 49 inches (125.5 cm) and has, as its name suggests,a quantum dot OLED panel (QD OLED). We find here a 32:9 aspect ratiothis time associated with a 1800R”’ curvature. The OLED provides an almost infinite color contrast ratio. A refresh rate of 240 Hz and a response time of 0.1 ms are also there.
One of the other strengths of this model is that it natively integrates the Samsung GamingHub : This means that game streamers can enjoy access to their favorite services even when the monitor is not connected to a PC. It also means that the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 can be connected by Wi-Fi itself. In addition, the Amazon Prime Video, YouTube and Netflix applications are also accessible via the Smart Hub, which gives the screen functions of connected TV.
Again, Samsung has not yet provided information on the availability and price of this new reference.
