A Corrientes prosecutor requested the international capture of a merchant from the Corrientes city of Gobernador Virasoro who allegedly sexually abused a six-year-old girl, a friend of his daughter. The man managed to cross the border and sought refuge in Brazil this Monday while the Justice took a statement from the victim in Cámara Gesell.

The accusation falls on Milton Ricardo Alvez, a 45-year-old merchant who lives on Manuel Ocampo de Virasoro street. The Police raided his home and other places before it was established that he left the country through the international crossing of Santo Tomé.

The investigation was triggered on Thursday of last week. That night, a six-year-old girl told her mother that she felt pain in her genital area. The woman took her to a room and found that she had marked redness. When she asked who had done that to her, the little girl said that she had been the father of her friend.

The parents of the girl, who has communication problems but not a developmental delay, took her to the Virasoro Hospital, where a resident doctor told them that he was not in a position to certify if she had been abused, but recommended that they file a complaint.

From there, a series of errors would follow, both in the health system and in the judicial system that led to the escape of Alves. The couple made a presentation at the Women’s Police Station, but they warned the parents that the girl would have to go through a gynecological examination the next day for the case to move forward.

A specialist doctor certified the existence of injuries in the genital and anal area, but said that she could not confirm that it was due to a sexual assault. Despite this, the girl’s father filed a complaint with the prosecutor Julio Cazarré, who together with the judge of Guarantees Alfredo Behr only limited themselves to issuing a ban on reciprocal rapprochement between the accused and the complainant, despite the fact that they reside in adjoining houses.

The plaintiff lawyer Eduardo Etchegaray maintained that the minor’s statement in the Gesell Chamber was finally set for Monday at noon. “There she said that Alves took her to a bedroom, took off her clothes and inserted her fingers into her private parts,” he said.

Alves had been summoned to go with his defense attorney to control the statement, but he never showed up. That is why the prosecutor Cazarré requested his immediate arrest, but by then the merchant had already left the country.

The girl’s father lamented the slowness with which Justice acted. “My daughter did not lie as Alves’ relatives said. She told from the first moment what had happened and we had to suffer the attacks and threats from this person’s wife, nephews and brothers, as if we were to blame for what she did, ”she said.

The man added that his neighbor “took advantage of the fact that my baby has a health problem and it is difficult for her to express herself; that she speaks little and believed that she was not going to tell us what she did to him ”.
