A true scandal at sexual levels in the Argentine Army. Three female soldiers denounced that they were victims of sexual attacks and threats.
After these accusations, the head of the 12th Exploration Cavalry Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Juan Facundo Candiotti, was arrested this Tuesday morning during a raid.
According to witnesses, Candiotti took it upon himself to hide the abuses and is now being investigated as an accessory to the attacks.
Hernán Viri, the judge in the case, assured that there could be more victims according to the investigations they carried out after the complaints that occurred over time.
Another Army non-commissioned officer, Víctor Hugo Mercado, was also arrested in Campo de Mayo accused of sexual abuse.
From the investigation they emphasize that “Mercado would be the one facing charges against him for alleged sexual abuse and harassment.”
