Konstantinos Kilikidis reacted with suspicion to a statement by Peter Knäbel. The sports director of Schalke 04 justified the loan of Florian Flick (22) to Nuremberg and the commitment of Niklas Tauer (21) from Mainz with the words: “Niklas is better than Florian in the relevant performance data.”
Flick consultant Kilikidis says the ‘image’: “I don’t like how the situation is being portrayed now. It wasn’t like Flo was being chased off the farm. Under no circumstances did Schalke want to lend him to Nürnberg with a purchase option, so they will probably plan with him.” Knäbel now says: “The fact that we believe in Florian Flick’s potential shows that we only loaned him out without a purchase option. I hope he plays as many games in Nuremberg as possible.”
