FC Schalke 04 brings a new signing for the center of defence. Moritz Jenz is moving from FC Lorient to the Royal Blues. The 23-year-old central defender comes on loan until the end of the season. According to media reports, there is a purchase obligation of four million euros if S04 holds the class. Actually, Jenz was loaned out by the French to Celtic Glasgow, but his time in Scotland was cut short.

Jenz was born in Berlin, but has not yet played in Germany in his professional career. In 2015 he moved from Tennis Borussia Berlin to FC Fulham’s youth team. In 2020 we went to Lausanne-Sport in Switzerland. From there it went to Lorient a year later for a fee of 3.5 million euros.

At his loan spell Celtic, Jenz started the season as a regular and played over 90 minutes in all six of the club’s Champions League games. In the meantime, however, he has lost his secure place in the center of defence. He will probably play regularly again at Schalke.
