“Nowhere could it be nicer than here in Schwabach. I never wanted to leave except for vacation,” Gisela Roiderer told Lord Mayor Peter Reiß when he later visited her on her 100th birthday – her day of honor was on Sunday.

Her second home was at TV 1848, the sprightly jubilarian continued. Gymnastics in particular (almost every day) was her passion, but she also liked to take part in events and in club life.

An apprenticeship in retail was the basis for her later self-employment: Roiderer ran a household goods store on the market square. In addition to the congratulations and a certificate from the Prime Minister, Mayor Reiß also brought a flower greeting from the city – and of course toasted her with a glass of sparkling wine.
