After President Alberto Fernández announced that he would not run for re-election, Ambassador Daniel Scioli highlighted the “courage” of the president for the decision he made and ratified that “today more than ever” he will present himself as a presidential candidate for the Frente de Todos (FdT).

“My recognition of the courage of Alberto Fernández, who faced unimaginable adversities, who never made a decision against the Argentine people and this is further proof of that,” Scioli said in his Twitter account. Twitterwhere he also called for the “unity” of Peronism “prioritizing the needs of the people in an internal democratic process that strengthens not only our space but also democracy.”

“Today I make a decision that I made public some time ago when I expressed my desire to be a candidate in the PASO and obviously Today more than ever I ratify my conviction that the time ahead demands good sense and experience, agreement and consensus for the challenges we have to face. I have made a cult of dialogue“, indicated Daniel Scioli in an interview with TN.

This morning the President published a video of just over 7 minutes, titled “My decision”, where he announced his decision not to run for re-election to “focus on solving the problems of Argentines.”

The diplomat confirmed to TN who spoke with the President after his decision: “I personally conveyed to him what I felt, affection, appreciation, as he has also stated. He told me that he trusts me, believes in my experience and has great personal affection for me and Please respect my decision to participate in PASO.”

Scioli considered it preferable that “people order the candidacies constructively in a STEP” and that “it be a debate of ideas.” In this sense, he affirmed that “it is very healthy in a space like ours, where there are nuances, that everything is resolved in a participatory and orderly STEP”.
