Sean Diddy Combs returns key to NY after video about assault

NEW YORK.- SeanDiddy” Combs returned his key to the city of NY following the request of Mayor Eric Adams in response to the publication of a video in which the music mogul is seen attacking rhythm and blues singer Cassie, official sources reported.

The mayor of New York said Combs returned the key after Adams sent letters to the musician’s offices in New York and California on June 4 rescinding the key and asking that it be returned to the City Council. Municipal authorities received the key on June 10.

In his letter, Adams wrote that he was deeply disturbed by the attack. “I strongly condemn these actions and stand in solidarity with all survivors of domestic and gender violence,” the official said.

Controversy in the race SeanDiddy” Combs

Combs’ career has been derailed by numerous allegations of sexual abuse, as well as a federal police investigation into sex trafficking that led to raids on Combs’ mansions in Los Angeles and Miami.

In May, CNN released security video showing Combs assaulting Cassie in the hallway of a Los Angeles hotel in 2016. Combs said he is truly sorry for assaulting Cassie and called his actions inexcusable. Cassie, whose legal name is Cassandra Ventura, sued Combs last year, unleashing a wave of increased scrutiny on Combs. The case was resolved one day after his presentation.

Adams awarded the key to Combs in a ceremony last year, which coincided with the release of a new album.

Howard University this month revoked an honorary degree awarded to Combs and ended a scholarship program in his name after the release of the video of Cassie’s assault.

Combs, founder of Bad Boy Records, is one of the most influential hip hop producers and executives of the last three decades and has turned musical success into a business empire.

The Associated Press has not received a response to an email sent to a person listed online as Combs’ representative.
