There’s just over a week left now until The Last of Us premieres on HBO Max and while we still don’t know if there will actually be a season two of the series, its showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann are now hinting at what season two might bring about.

Since the first season is based on the first game, it may not come as much of a surprise that a potential second season will most likely follow the events of the sequel. There will be some differences compared to the game in the first season, and the series’ showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann say in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that this would also be the case in a possible second season.

It’s a lot of The Last of Us right now, the series is premiering soon, Druckmann has hinted at a third game and we’re also expected to get more information about the highly anticipated multiplayer game this year. Whether The Last of Us gets a second season remains to be seen, much will of course depend on how it goes as the series reportedly has a budget higher than several of the Game of Thrones seasons. If there is a second season, it is probably wise not to get too attached to Pedro Pascal as Joel.

What do you think about a season two of The Last of Us?

Soon we will see if Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey and the rest live up to the hype in HBO’s The Last of Us.
