Olympique de Marseille confirmed their excellent current form by overthrowing Lorient with style (3-1) this Saturday for their last match of the first leg of Ligue 1.

Veretout and Kolasinac went for a walk.

On his spear, Olympique de Marseille won a seventh consecutive victory by winning with panache against Lorient (3-1) this Saturday on the 19th day of Ligue 1.

Particularly attractive, Igor Tudor’s men thus finished the first leg in 3rd place in the standings, only two points behind the Lensois runner-up, winner of Auxerre a little earlier (1-0).

Marseille starts strong

Like against Troyes (2-0) on Wednesday, the Marseillais started off on their feet by asphyxiating the Hakes (84% possession) and offering an attractive game with lots of movement. The first situations were not long in coming and an uncrossed header from nder forced Mannone to jump, while Mbemba’s shot, in the middle of the box, flew away.

Moffi crashes, Kolasinac responds

This did not prevent the Phoenicians from having a scare with a breakthrough from Moffi, caught in extremis after a quickly played throw-in. From then on, the debates were balanced and OM fell into a more static game. Worse, Moffi fructified the awakening of his team by opening the scoring with a powerful volley from a corner (0-1, 29th). Marseille’s reaction was rather timid, but all it took was a perfect cross from nder for Kolasinac’s angry header to put the locals back on par (1-1, 38′)!

OM in demonstration

In the crowd, Gigot, who found the bar with his head, then Veretout, whose shot was slammed by Mannone, were not far from striking again for the Marseilles who were again distraught before the break. OM were rewarded on their return from the locker room when Sanchez unblocked the situation with a superb sequence in the box (2-1, 53′). In the crowd, Veretout was going to look for the goal of the break alone (3-1, 59th). The Phocens thus offered themselves a quiet last half hour with multiple changes including the entry of Dieng, who stumbled on Mannone. The kind of service that allows you to approach the future with serenity.

Match score: 8/10

In a great atmosphere, the supporters present at the Stade Vlodrome had plenty to enjoy! Even if the opening of the opposing score thwarted their plans for a time, the Marseillais offered a loose and offensive game really attractive. Goals, spectacle, twists and turns: all the ingredients were there for a good evening!

The goals :

– Right side, Cathline hits a corner which finds Moffi, who takes over with a powerful volley with the right foot at the penalty spot (0-1, 29th).

– Lost by Malinovskyi, nder crosses into the box for Kolasinac, who heads Mannone (1-1, 38′).

– Following a cross from Kolasinac and a deflection from Gigot, the ball reaches Sanchez. In the middle of the box, the Chilean connects superbly controlled and hits and shoots Mannone with the help of the post (2-1, 53rd).

– Mbemba performs a right cross from the area. At the far post, Veretout grabbed the ball which was trailing in Ouattara’s legs. His shot, deflected by Kalulu, left Mannone no chance (3-1, 58′).

Players’ NOTES

Maxifoot has assigned a score (out of 10) comments on each player.

Man of the Match: Sead Kolasinac (7.5/10)

What activity on the part of the left piston! In line with his performances in recent weeks, the Bosnian has been omnipresent, whether in the pressing, the centers or the projections. Author of the equalizing goal with his head, the origin of the second and formidable on his crosses and his overflows, the former Gunner set fire to the opposing defense! Replaced in the 66th minute by Dimitri Payet (not not).

MARSEILLES :

Pau Lpez (5): helpless on the opposing goal, the OM goalkeeper was very little called upon elsewhere. A quiet evening with only two stops made.

Chancel Mbemba (6.5): this time he did not score, but the central defender was again omnipresent on the front of the attack, like his shot saved on the line and his cross which initiates the last goal. Always as strong in the duels, the Congolese remained imperial defensively.

Samuel Gigot (6): the freedom he grants Moffi on his goal adds nuance to a record that could have been excellent. Like a Mbemba, the central defender has projected himself enormously: he finds the head of the bar from a corner and judiciously deflects the ball for Sanchez on the 2nd goal.

Leonardo Balerdi (6): clean match from the central defender, who joined the gestures to the word after having sworn loyalty to OM. Like his comeback in extremis in front of Moffi 0-0, the Argentinian made saving interventions. A slightly lighter offensive contribution than that of his partners.

Cengiz nder (7): the image of Kolosinac, the Turk is going through a good period! His activity was enormous with no less than 8 crosses to his credit, including one for his comprehension from the left lane on the equalizing goal. Very hard-hitting and fair in his choices, the Marseillais could have found the fault too, but Mannone defeated him at the start of the game.

Valentin Rongier (5): a serious match from the midfielder, who did important behind-the-scenes work with great application. His offensive participation will have been more limited.

Jordan Veretout (7): the Marseille game metronome has again made a full copy. Omnipresent in the pressing and inspired in their play, the Phocen scratched a lot of balls and he insisted enormously offensively. If Mannone closes the door before the break, the Habs are rewarded with their goal on the hour mark. Replaced in the 76th minute by Pope Gueye (not).

Sead Kolasinac (7.5): read comment above.

Ruslan Malinovskyi (4.5): holder for the first time after coming on at Troyes, the rookie has long represented the big black spot of the evening alongside OM. The winger indeed had a lot of trouble positioning himself and existing in the first period and he accumulated dangerous ball losses, including one that almost cost him dearly against Le Fe. On the other hand, we felt better from the Ukrainian after the break. His presence did good to nder that he also shifts to the equalizing goal. Replace the 66th minute with Issa Kabor (not).

Matto Guendouzi (5): the midfielder will not have been the most prominent of the Marseillais but he gave his all, as usual, constantly haranguing his partners. A little more present in the game in the second period when he played a little lower.

Alexis Snchez (6): registered on an exceptional sequence, his goal puts OM in the lead and saves the performance of the Chilean a little. Rather available in the game, the attacker lacked presence in the box but he retains this ability to rock a match. Replace 77th minute with Bamba Dieng (not not)who gets a big chance but stumbles on Mannone.

LORIEN :

Vito Mannone (4): despite his major saves against nder, Veretout then Dieng, the Lorient goalkeeper was beaten three times. The porter failed in his aerial outings and he was thus overtaken by Kolasinac on the equalizing goal.

Gdon Kalulu (3): the very stirring Kolasinac represented a sacred client for the right side, who was never really able to close his lane. Unhappy, he deflects the ball on the last opposing goal.

Chrislain Matsima (4.5): a pity that the central defender lacked aggression on the 1-1 goal, because the rest of his match turned out to be very interesting, with sharp interventions, like his rescue on the line on Mbemba’s recovery.

Montassar Talbi (4): the image of a life-saving release at the start of the game, the central defender managed to repel the danger for a while, then the Tunisian ended up losing his footing against the liveliness of the Marseille attackers.

Vincent Le Goff (3): rather interesting in a few offensive situations, the left side still seemed much too light defensively against a nder on fire who systematically took over.

Laurent Abergel (3.5): for the return to the field of his training club, the midfielder was not the party and the Lorient captain did not really weigh in the battle of the midfield, completely dominated by OM. Injured and replaced the 70th minute by Adil Aouchiche (not).

Enzo Le Fe (5.5): the midfielder managed to get his pin out of the game by showing accuracy on the counters of his team. Quickly, Malinovskyi almost seriously injured him, but the Breton gritted his teeth. Replace the 84th minute with Ibrahima Kon (not).

Dango Ouattara (3): difficult part for the winger, who did not offer his usual impact from an offensive point of view. To make matters worse, the Burkinab lost the fatal ball in their area against Veretout on the 3rd goal.

Julien Ponceau (4): often positioned very high, the attacking midfielder struggled a lot but without really having the opportunity to show off. Replace the 63rd minute with Bonke Innocent (no not).

Yoann Cathline (4.5): apart from his decisive pass for Moffi, which improves his record a little, it must be admitted that the winger had difficulty weighing on this part.

Terem Moffi (6): weaned from balls at the start of the match and too clumsy in his handling of the ball on his first situation, the striker is nevertheless intractable by finding the fault of an impeccable recovery from a corner. odds on this transfer window?
