A new website launched by Sega seems to be counting down to February 12, 2023, and although its intentions are vague, fans have realized that it could be the return of a classic game of Dreamcast.

Taking to social media, Sega shared a link to a new website known only as “csmashvrs.com” with the caption “Eye c sth forming.”

The website includes links to the company’s social media, a real-time countdown to February 12, and a square made up of spheres shaped like a play button.

If visitors click the black arrow that forms the circle, it will play music and display an interactive game of pong, waveforms from the site track, and much more. There is no information on the website about what the site is for or about.

However, fans have deduced that the vague teaser is most likely preparing a reissue of a Dreamcast title released in 2001 known as Cosmic Smash.

Not only does the site URL match this prediction, but the original Cosmic Smash leaderboards website now redirects to the new site. Many fans have commented on the company’s publications about their enthusiasm for the return of a cult classic after 20 years.
