84-year-old died from numerous stabs with a kitchen knife. The public prosecutor accuses her neighbor of murder out of malice and greed.

The trial against a woman who is accused of a perfidious act begins on Tuesday at the Duisburg Regional Court: The public prosecutor is convinced that the 46-year-old from Duisburg stabbed a neighbor (84) last summer and then tried to commit the crime, whose severe dementia Blaming 89-year-old roommate. Presumably only the indictment will be read out at the start of the trial. Its core is already known.

The alleged perpetrator is said to have killed out of greed and malice. In addition, the woman is said to have tried to use the murder to cover up the fact that she was said to have withdrawn money from the accounts of the elderly without authorization for months and diverted it for herself. After the crime, which took place in an apartment building near the inner harbor, the 89-year-old was initially taken to the closed psychiatric ward as a suspect. Two months later, after extensive investigations, the neighbor was arrested and sent to custody. The victim had been stabbed in his bed by numerous stabs with a kitchen knife.

After the start of the trial, the court initially scheduled six more days of trial. Around 30 witnesses, including an expert, should help the chamber to clarify the case. A verdict could come in early June.
