SEPTA secures $80 million to improve its transportation services

Transportation agency SEPTA received an $80 million federal award to modernize its drayage service in Philadelphia and surrounding areas.

Leaders of the Federal Transit Administration visited the City of Brotherly Love for the symbolic delivery of funds that will further SEPTA’s effort to modernize and improve transit services, as well as support the goal of a zero emission fleet.

The money will help for the following:

  • Provide safety and power upgrades to six SEPTA bus districts.
  • Address situations that have to do with the benefit of passengers.

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney received the grant awarded to SEPTA along with the agency’s president and other leaders.
