Serious allegations from ex-jungle queen – “It’s just that RTL manipulates”

She’s fed up with the jungle!

Eight years ago, moderator and actress Maren Gilzer (62) was in the RTL jungle camp – and even won the 9th season. At that time she proudly posed with her jungle crown. But today she no longer wants to know anything about the format and leaves no good hair to the makers.

What’s more: Gilzer doesn’t even turn it on in the evening when “I’m a star – get me out of here!” (RTL) runs. Her reason: “Because watching me arouses too many negative emotions and just before falling asleep,” she said to “ Watson”. “Moreover, because I know how it is that some candidates behave in such an impossible way. It’s just that RTL manipulates.”

Gilzer continues: “Of course the show needs a bitch, but also someone who has a balancing effect, someone for whom the fuse is very short, someone who is always good for a scandal and so on.”

Then she betrays Ex-jungle queen, how these manipulations by the creators of the show work: “They try to play the candidates off against each other and heat up the mood in the camp.” You can fall for these tricks or not, the moderator continues.

However, the allegations of manipulation are not new. Already three years ago reported BILD about it: “If the camp is too boring, the broadcasters give the celebrities tips and suggestions as to which secrets they could divulge around the campfire to make themselves more interesting for the viewers.” However, RTL insists that no “tips” are given but admitted that there were talks about how candidates could survive “possible crises” in the camp.

Looking back, Gilzer remembers her time in the Australian camp: “Back then, our squadron was the harmony jungle. We have shown that this challenge can be mastered with a willingness to help and consideration. The broadcaster found the show too boring. That’s why the production company adjusted the cast after us so that there is more escalation. RTL wants a trash jungle.”

But that is now too intense for her, and she no longer switches on: “There are also people in the jungle camp who are not mentally stable, who have experienced defeats in their careers that they did not cope with well. The way RTL bangs on about it, exposes these people and keeps coming back – that’s just too blatant and too inhuman for me.

This is not only the case in the jungle, but also with other formats on other channels. But she says: “It hurts my soul. These are people and they are not just stupid as many think. They’re being driven into stupidity. And I don’t want to see that.”
