Palma
Actually Mallorca is not a typical destination for winter holidays. But currently visitors can hike through snowy landscapes. How long will the winter weather last?

After a summer with record temperatures of over 40 degrees in some places, intense snowfall over the past few days has transformed the mountains on Mallorca into a white winter landscape. According to the national Spanish weather service, the snow line on the popular holiday island was also around 800 meters on Thursday (January 26). Snowy forests and slopes of the Serra de Tramuntana could be seen in photos.

The highest mountain in this almost 90-kilometer-long mountain range from the south-west of the island to the north-east is the Puig Mayor at 1445 meters. Hikers published photos from these mountain ranges on social networks that looked like they were from the Alps.

However, in the lower parts of the island, such as in the capital Palma, the snow did not stay put. But it was also uncomfortable and cold and wet there, which the people in the not so well insulated houses felt.

The winter weather should continue for the next few days, but it should be milder again from Sunday.
