The armed conflict in Ukraine seriously complicates the work of local developers. Recently, power cuts have added an additional difficulty and limited professional activity. Release postponed for several weeks
Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is the remake of the very popular The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: The Night of the Sacrifices, published in 2006, where the worlds of Sherlock and the Cthulhu Mythos intersect. In the summer of 2022, the developers of the Ukrainian studio Frogwares announced the launch of a Kickstarter campaign, which was very successful and made it possible to relaunch the Sherlock Holmes license.
“Relaunch” is however inappropriate to talk about the current situation, the progress of the development of the game. Indeed, Ukraine is impacted by an armed conflict with Russia, depriving it of essential resources. Lately, the power cuts that the country is experiencing are impacting the work of the developers, who spoke by video to announce the postponement of their game.
We’ve been working hard to meet the scheduled release date, but continual power outages, in addition to frequent missile attacks since October, have forced us to reschedule and reschedule almost every month. We’re now at the point where the game is complete and we need to move on to final QA, polish, and launch preparation. To say that we are tired of how all this has derailed our daily work since the start of winter is an understatement. But we are doing our best to move forward. When we think we are a month away from release, we will be able to announce our full release date with an exact day.

Originally released in 2006, The Awakened is a complete remake and substantial rewrite, rebuilt and redesigned from the ground up to work with Unreal Engine 4.
