Shooting after local festival leaves 3 dead, 8 injured in Texas, police say

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police say three people have been killed and eight injured in a shooting after a local Fourth of July festival.

Following the shooting, the victims were taken to two Fort Worth hospitals in private vehicles and ambulances. According to local authorities, 11 shooting victims have been identified: three people are dead and eight others are recovering. The victims include ten adults and one minor.

Fort Worth Police Department Capt. Shawn Murray said the crime scene spanned a couple of blocks in the area of ​​Diaz Avenue and Horne Street.

Murray said it’s too early to know the motive or how many gunmen were involved.

Police ask anyone with information about the shooting to call the Fort Worth Homicide Unit at 817-392-4330 or crime stoppers and if anyone has personal videos during the time of the shooting or the events leading up to the shooting, they are asked to contact the police.
