As part of the celebrations for the Children’s Dayone of the main attractions of the amusement park Six Flags Mexico presented an alleged flaw. A group of people who attended the game known by the name “Superman the Last Escape” stayed stranded for more than 30 minutes on one of its cusps. However, no repercussions on the health of those affected were reported.

So far, the administration of the amusement park has not issued a statement in this regard or disclosed the causes that led to the failure in the attraction. In the same situation is the Secretariat for Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil protection From Mexico City (SGIRPC CDMX).

On the contrary, through his verified Twitter account, the Tlalpan mayor’s office announced that they were able to establish communication with the administration of Six Flags Mexico and corroborated that the situation is now under control.

“Latest information. After reports of failures in a mechanical game of six flags, staff of the Town hall established communication with the amusement park, who reported that there are no injuries and the situation is already under control,” read the message posted on the @TlalpanAl Twitter account.

In images disseminated through social networks, it was observed that one of the trains with people on board he came to a complete stop before he could move down the first and longest descent of the ride. It was also possible to see that the users, until that moment, could not descend from the structure.

According to the first versions, the group of attendees who went up to one of the attractions with the greatest attendance at the amusement park was unable to move for almost 40 minutes, although they could be evacuees by one of the stairs of the game after the operators gave the indication.

Similarly, no details have been released regarding the state of health of the people affected by the alleged mechanical failure. Although the position in which they remained for more than half an hour did not seem to have been uncomfortable, they could have been vulnerable to the ravages of the sun and the high temperatures present in the country’s capital.

The event occurred around 3:00 p.m., one of the periods of the day least recommended by the health authorities for prolonged exposure to the sun. In addition to skin damage from burns, the immediate effects may cause the presence of symptoms of insolation such as nausea, vomiting, headache, drowsiness or even dehydration.

It is not the first time that a game in said amusement park has failed in its operation. In December 2019, during a routine inspection at the same game, one of the trains was stopped on a section of the route and safety protocols had to be activated to address the mechanical failure. On that occasion no one was on board.

One year later, in 2020, an 18-year-old was thrown out of the game known as “spinning drums” in full operation. As a consequence, he presented head injuries, a situation that was confirmed by the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office (FGJ CDMX), although days later his stable health condition was reported.

Despite the situation, through a statement, the amusement park indicated that the game was closed to carry out a thorough inspection of its operation and confirm that it can work safely. “This ride is an attraction that has been in the park for a long time and has delivered millions of safe, trouble-free rides,” they wrote in a statement.
