According to Caschy, Sky has been showing a lot of content since November “that it will no longer be available at the start of 2023 – if you take a look, you will find that a lot is missing, even fresh series like The Undeclared War,” it says. Sky has now confirmed that from January 2023 some Peacock content will no longer be available on Sky in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. However, the company did not give any details. One can only speculate whether it could have something to do with the launch of Universal+ or with Comcast, who still owns Sky, intends to sell it.
Classic series from NBCUniversal
So far, selected content from Peacock was included in the entertainment package from Sky Germany and Sky Austria.
Customers with an entertainment package were automatically given access to this content and didn’t have to do anything else. However, there is a catch, on-demand content is only displayed on the Sky+ receiver in a greatly reduced form. As a customer with a Sky+ receiver, Peacock could only be viewed via Sky Go.
The offer includes series classics from NBCUniversal as well as a number of Peacock’s own productions such as Saved by the Bell, Rutherford Falls, MacGruber and Bel-Air. Some have only been announced so far, but will probably not start at all for Sky Deutschland customers.
