Skyrim has been one of the most popular action role-playing games for more than ten years and is a perennial favorite thanks to its mods. A central element in the game are the dragons, which you can tame as a Dragonborn and which play an important role in the story. And as luck would have it, just last year one of the most popular fantasy series returned with a spin-off called House of the Dragon. As the name suggests, there are of course a lot of kites flying in the sky. And what couldn’t be better for fans of both franchises than marveling at the fascinating creatures from the “Game of Thrones” spin-off series in Skyrim or even riding them like the Targaryens do? A new mod for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition makes it possible!

The dragons from House of the Dragon are in Skyrim!

The mod adds the famous flying horrors from House of the Dragon and its parent series Game of Thrones to your game. Also included are Daenerys Targaryen’s dragon called DROGON, Daemon Targaryen’s dragon called CARAXES and Laenor Velaryon’s little dragon Seasmoke.

For the mod, the already existing skins of the well-known dragons from Skyrim have been replaced with new skins that look really impressive, like you on the mod page can see. The fight with the dragons also feels slightly different, for example new movement sequences and sound effects have been added.

Skyrim is so popular mainly thanks to modding

Bethesda owes the fact that Skyrim is still so successful to the very active modding community. Since the beginning, many small and large mods have appeared for the role-playing game. Mods for the fantasy series Game of Thrones have always been popular, which is understandable.

After all, both settings are very similar and even better: There are dragons in both universes! So the perfect opportunity for modders to live out their talent. Despite the many mods, Skyrim won’t keep fans happy forever either. That’s why Bethesda is already working hard on The Elder Scrolls VI, which will definitely not be released for the Playstation anymore. And before Elder Scrolls 6 is released, Starfield is the first thing to do. For the sci-fi role-playing game, twice as many lines of dialogue were recorded as in Skyrim and Fallout 4 together!
