Snapchat dark mode will soon be available on Android under certain condition. You will need to be a Snapchat+ subscriber to unlock Dark Mode on Android. This subscription costs €3.99 per month.

Dark mode has now become a must for applications and in particular social networks. Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, the list is long. All of these apps offer a dark mode that you can enable on Android and iOS. Even Windows 11 offers a dark mode. Some, however, are still lagging behind. This is the case of Snapchat still doesn’t have Dark Mode on Android.

Snapchat might finally soon offer a dark mode to Android users, but under one condition. Dark mode is said to be locked behind the Snapchat+ subscription launched last year. It would therefore be paid on Android while iOS users have had it for free for quite some time.

Snapchat’s dark mode on Android, a temporary paid feature?

At €3.99 per month, Snapchat+ subscription unlocks exclusive features like special badges, a different app icon, and the ability to choose a “best friend” to pin their chat. Subscribers can also see people who have watched their Story multiple times. The next feature to be added to Snapchat+ would therefore be dark mode on android.

Leaker Alessandro Paluzzi tweeted that Snapchat is currently working on Dark Mode for Android. The catch is that ” this will be a feature for Snapchat+ subscribers “. We don’t know, however, why Snapchat would charge for a feature on Android that is already free on iOS. The social network where false sick leaves are sold in industrial quantities from €15 risks annoying its users with this paid functionality.

However, it would be possible that the dark mode is temporarily reserved for subscribers on Android. Once Snapchat is verified to be working well and there are no bugs, dark mode on Android could be unlocked for all users. In any case, Alessandro Paluzzi also did not specify when Dark Mode will land in Snapchat+. Dark mode can be activated from the “App Appearance” option as soon as it is available in the settings.
