João Dias, who was speaking to Lusa on the eve of the 32nd edition of the APDC – Digital Business Community congress, in which he will be a speaker on the panel on the new wave of digital services in Public Administration, adds that “soon” there will be “news ” on using AI to improve customer service.
“AI solutions like ChatGPT open up a world of opportunities that, if used well, could have the potential to revolutionize the public sector”, says the manager, when asked by Lusa on the subject.
This artificial intelligence technology “can be used in the public sector to improve communication, increase public participation and streamline decision-making processes”, he adds.
“For example, ChatGPT can be used to answer frequently asked questions from the public, provide personalized information and support and facilitate ‘online’ conversations between interested parties”, points out João Dias, and, at the same time, “it can also analyze large amounts data, such as citizen feedback or public opinion surveys, to help public officials make more informed decisions”.
Thus, “soon, we will have news about the use of this technology to improve public service”, he advances.
The success of the ChatGPT ‘chatbot’ has increased the debate about AI and the role of technology, as this model of generative AI can generate texts that are mistaken for human-made and even false images, as well as false information and plagiarism, raising concerns ethical and social.
OpenAI’s ChatGPT, launched at the end of 2022, has driven competing companies to develop similar projects in recent months.
‘Tokenization’, representation of physical assets by digital ones, advances in AI and the potential for public administration gains with digital are some of the topics under discussion at the 32nd edition of the APDC congress.
The annual event of the APDC – Digital Business Community, which will take place again in a hybrid format on May 9th and 10th, has the theme “The Great Digital Tech Disruptions” and features the former Minister of Economy and Digital Transition, Pedro Siza Vieira, as president of this congress.
