The gaming cloud services seem to be struggling in some headwinds at the moment. The biggest proof of that is Google’s closure of Stadia – a monumental flop that in some respects put an end to the whole concept. Sony has been more abstract around the cloud, but has nevertheless baked its previous PS Now venture into Playstation Plus.

And it might be more. The Verge notes that Sony currently has 22 positions advertised, all of which in one way or another involve technical work with cloud gaming. Among other things, we are looking for a person who will specifically work on developing and presenting a strategic vision for streaming games in the Playstation world.

Some of the ads are looking for more technical excellence, and some suggest that Sony is looking towards hybrid solutions that include the giants AWS and Kubernetes – and not Azure from Microsoft, a company that, after all, is not a big deal in the gaming world at the moment.

The Verge also speculates that Sony may see the potential for cloud gaming in it rumoured, the portable Q-Lite console company. As you can see, there is a lot about, but and maybe in this situation – but the advertised positions at least point to anything is underway behind the scenes.
