QuakeCon has now been confirmed to take place on August 10-13 this year. For the first time in three years, the event will be held physically and not exclusively online, as was previously the case due to covid-19. The event is a classic LAN party with tournaments and competitions, and participants are expected to bring their own computers. In addition to a grand LAN party, it must according to their own website also to hold a number of events and announcements throughout the weekend.

The news release also includes a greeting from Id Software CEO Marty Stratton:

“QuakeCon is our favorite event of the year, and we can’t wait to finally see our incredible QuakeCon community in-person again, celebrate games, and frag all weekend with thousands of friends. For our first year back, QuakeCon 2023 is focusing on the fan favorite BYOC and the players that made QuakeCon the best gaming gathering for more than 25 years.”
