There are new problems for Outlook users. According to media reports, many users suddenly wonder about problems sending or receiving emails with attachments. This error is due to a change.

This is based on various user complaints. The Online magazine BetaNews took care of the problems and found an explanation for the errors that occurred.

“If you’re having trouble sending and receiving email through your Outlook.com account, you’re not alone. The issues come after Microsoft recently rolled out changes that mean email attachments can now do the use up OneDrive storage limit,” reports the magazine. Information on this is not entirely new and the effects are already known. We have already reported.

Not all users will be switched over at the same time

Microsoft started rolling out the change in early February, but it seems the pace of rollout has picked up as more users reach their storage limits and struggle with their email.

The company has been warning users about this change since late last year, stating, “Starting February 1, 2023, the cloud storage used across all Microsoft 365 apps and services will also include Outlook.com data. Include attachments and OneDrive data. This update may result in your being able to use less cloud storage for your OneDrive. When you reach your cloud storage quota, your ability to send email in Outlook.com and to received, interrupted.”

Need an upgrade?

The changes are now hitting more and more accounts, and users are baffled as to why they can’t send or receive email. Many are annoyed and have no information about the background. Some complain that they feel Microsoft is forcing them to pay for additional storage by upgrading to a different OneDrive tier.

In order to have enough storage space for receiving and sending, there is nothing left but to diligently delete data. Above all, you should only leave the attachments stored in OneDrive if you are sure that you have enough space available.
